In today’s competitive business environment, it is essential to always try new and innovative techniques to strengthen your business over the long haul. A great way to do this is by using unique and innovative promotion gift ideas that you can pass out to your customers. This practice has been going on for a long time, but only recently companies are combining greater innovation with their promotional gifts to boost sales or to introduce a new product.
Business has reached such a competitive point that it is harder and harder for the consumer to tell most products apart. This is definitely a concern to the older, more well-established companies losing sales to new, fresher products that people are tempted to try. A way of bringing back these old customers is by creating interesting and innovating marketing strategies, including using cool promotional items.
Take for example what Burger King has done to take their promotions to the next level. Currently at Burger King, in response to the mega film “Transformers”, they are implementing a very exciting, interactive online promotion for their customers. When you order a large drink or combo meal, you get a promotional sticker that you can later redeem on an interactive Transformers/ B.K. site. It’s promotions like these that excite the consumer base and are an excellent way of promoting the brand of your business.
But if you’re looking for the most innovative gift promotions in history you need look no further than the Entertainment Industry, especially the Movie Industry. Ever since the 1940’s, Hollywood has been giving away promotional gifts like they were giving away candy. And this is not always cheap. During the course of a year, it is estimated that over 50 million dollars are devoted to promotional gifts and products. A staggering 50 million dollars spent every year. Amazing.
Many top gift bags today can value upwards to $20,000 dollars including high end jewelry, expensive technology, and top of the line cosmetics. During an expensive promotion, a movie studio can give away up to 50 bags all valued at $20,000 plus. Staggering. One of the most innovative promotions to date was for the movie premier of Gone in 60 Seconds, starring Nicolas Cage. The promotional company organized different cars to be brought in for high end celebrities and clients spending over 5 million dollars overall.
Promotional gift innovation is no small thing and can be an expensive and costly endeavor. But if you are smart you will be successful. If you implement the right promotional strategies, then the publicity and goodwill you bring in will do miracles for your company in the long run. They say that nothing is free, but buying goodwill and respect from your consumers will be some of the best money your company has ever spent.

Wackiest Products Ever Used in Promotions
Promotions have been used for a long time in business, but sometimes the promotion business can get a little strange. From dancing apes in front of cell phone stores, to company presidents getting dunked in water tanks, we all have seen wacky promotion at its best. But if you think about it, and you really think about it, what are some of the silliest, the craziest, and the wackiest promotional products to ever hit the streets. Enquiring minds want to know?
Giving away promotional items can be a great strategy for any established business promoting their brand, or any new business looking to make a name for itself. What better way to make a name for yourself than by introducing wacky promotional items to your customers. You might be asking yourself, well aren’t my customers wacky enough as it is already? Why would I want to encourage these wonderful customers of mine, to even get wackier than they already are? The reason is because it’s good for business.
It has often been proven that wacky and sometimes even silly promotional items can turn into cool promotional items that people will value for a long time to come. For example, take something we all loved and cherished at one time, the McDonald’s Happy Meal. The Happy Meal was the brainchild of St. Louis, Missouri advertising manager Dick Brams, who in 1977 developed the idea as a way to promote McDonald’s as a restaurant for families. Dick Brams concluded that if he put wacky promotion items in the bags, along with the food being served, then it would start a gigantic buzz and be an enormous hit. I think he may have been on to something. The very first Happy Meal premiums were toy Star Ships from the video game Space Invaders.
Thirty years ago we must have thought such promotions silly, and obscure at best. But today silly and wacky promotions are nothing new and engrained into our consciousness and culture. No one around the world ever forgets a good promotion, especially if it’s wacky enough. Who ever forgets about great promotions when they were able to get a pizza for only a penny or able try that delicious buffet for the first time, all for free? What great memories.
But all of that is child’s play compared to the wackiest promotion products of all time. What about a tiny music violin that can play 7 different tunes? Or what about the Wine Bottle Umbrella Holder? We have seen promotional products being passed out to customers like the Stainless Steal Body Fat analyzer and the waterproof life-sized duck radio; we have seen it all. But the wackiest of all time has to come from a European beauty company for Switzerland who, I’m not kidding you, passed out soap made out of real human fat, which was supposedly a high end product they were selling. People didn’t actually know that many of their products were actually made from human parts, and needless to say, this company wasn’t around for very much longer. I guess they didn’t “trim the fat”, and shortly after went out of business.

You Cannot Neglect The Most Important Part Of Your Sales Funnel Strategy
Everyone knows that not everybody that visits your websites is going to become a customer. In fact, the vast majority won't, even if they are a part of your target market. It is very easy to waste time, effort, and money on trying to get the wrong people into your sales funnel that will do you no good.
You have to know who exactly is your ideal prospect before you start spending too much in the way of resources to try to get people to your business that will neither be interested nor happy to be a part of it.
Something very important to understand is that people would much rather buy from others whom they know, like, and trust. This is something that you can fairly easily accomplish with each prospect and customer of yours, whether you actually meet them and talk to them or not.
Now, building this kind of trust can take a while to do, but in the long run, it is worth it, as those who trust you are much more likely to buy from you and come back. Not only that, they will be much more likely to refer other business to you later, buiding your operation's strength for long-term success.
These people can very quickly become qualified buyers once your reputation has been established. Maybe these people started with a freebie that you gave them or a small-ticket item, but they will be more likely to buy a bigger ticket item later, too. Once a purchase has been made, they are much more likely to be a source of further income for your business.
If you want them to keep coming back, you have to consistently provide them with quality information related to the niche that you are in. If you want to work your way up to bigger ticket items for your customers, you have to show that you will provide quality and value, especially with information that they are interested in that could help them in some way.
You can start with articles and ebooks, but you need other things like home study courses, other reports, and the like in the pipeline before launching your venture. This way, if things do begin to happen for you quickly, you'll be prepared to handle the business and fill their needs.
At this point, it has become very important to remind your customers that you are there and that you have products and services to fill their needs. The best way to do this is with an opt-in email list or mailing list.
When you first offer them something for free to get them on your marketing list, not only are you trying to get them to give you their information, you are giving them a taste of what they can expect from you with regard to information. This helps them to determine whether your information, products, and services are right for them.
This is good and important because not only do these people want to make sure you're right for them, you want them to be right for you, too. Not only does this build trust between you, it also cuts down on clutter. Even with a huge marketing list, you won't do well if those folks are not in the right market. As long as they are the right people to have in your sales funnel, you can have a mutually beneficial relationship that will help your business and reputation.
If you provide value, these people will gladly give you their information with the expectation that you will be sending them promotional offers and such and be open to reading them. Many will even be excited to see what you have to offer next. If not, you will just be another name in their inbox, and they will eventually leave you or even resent you.
It is absolutely imperative to make it worth their while to keep coming back to you for information, products, and services. Keeping them abreast of upcoming promotions, articles, new releases, and such is another excellent way of keeping up the suspense and excitement on their end.
If you want lifelong customers, you have to work hard and be dedicated to them. You need to plan your marketing and content well so that you can effectively move people to trust you and keep returning. If you can do this, you will have customers for life.

Starting A Home Business – A Few Pointers
If we look at the internet today and search for “home business” or home based business opportunities, the mother of all search engines throws up millions of results. Almost all of these opportunities out there could be fairly good, a few excellent and some could be fraudulent as bad pennies turn out in every industry.
However, selecting a home business is not as easy as most of these websites claim it to be. There are a few considerations that would need great pondering before you embark on a home business:
a.Starting a home business is not free as most of these claims state that starting a home business is free, be a little wary. Although you may not be paying upfront fee to get business opportunities here, you would always end up buying a computer, getting an internet connection and spending invaluable time in looking for the right business to start off with. This is an investment and there is nothing called a “free lunch” is there?
b.While the home business you intend to start suits your skills and appears to be lucrative, you will need to have a rough business plan before you begin as in any traditional business. Obviously, you will not want to float through in life financially.
c.Although any home business if taken up seriously can bring you good results, the objective of your home business should be to achieve financial freedom for yourself. While this requires a lot of planning and proper blue print to success, it is not rocket science.
d. A lot of home business opportunities are available to choose from. Even if you choose a home business that seems to be most interesting and suits your skill-set, working from home can be a glitch. Although it appears that working from home gives you a lot of options to use your time with and spending time with your family, certain complacency would set in with time. Being self-disciplined is the key to having a successful homebusiness.
e. It could take some time to set up your home business. Like any other business, a home business also has a lead time before which it can begin to generate income for you. The time can be longer if you intend to pursue part time. You will need to be patient and work at it for a few weeks before you can see tangible results. Perseverance and tenacity are the keys to go through such times. Make sure that you have a few dollars tucked away to get you through this lead time before you launch your home business.
The above points are generic to any home based business and once you understand these, you would need to add to this list depending on the home business you opt for. You could begin part-time and go on to take the home business seriously enough to make it full time. And, if you have just been axed or looking for a new job, there is no better time to opt for a brand new home business.
